Societe Generale Securities Services appoints Dirk Werthmann as senior relationship manager for Germany

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Dirk Werthmann as Senior Relationship Manager for Germany. He reports to Jochen Meyers, Managing Director for Sales and Relationship Management in Germany and Austria.

Dirk Werthmann has almost 20 years of experience in the international banking and securities servicing industry. He will be responsible for fostering SGSS Deutschland’s key client relationships in Germany and Austria, thus supporting large and internationally active institutional clients (asset managers, insurance companies, corporates and institutional investors).

SGSS’ clients in Germany benefit from a comprehensive and efficient range of securities services, including clearing services, custody and trustee services (depotbank), fund administration and asset servicing, Master-KAG and in-sourcing services, liquidity management and fund distribution services, as well as global issuer services. SGSS in Germany has over 250 employees located in Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg.

Dirk Werthmann began his career in 1993 at BHF-BANK, where he gained experience in a number of client-focused positions. In 2005 he joined BHF BNY Securities Services as co-Managing Director for Sales & Relationship Management and in 2009 was appointed Head of Domestic Sales Management for Germany at BHF Asset Servicing GmbH. In 2010 he became Head of Sales for non-Financial Institutions at BNY Mellon Asset Servicing GmbH and then in 2011 was appointed Head of Sales for non-Financial Institutions at BNY Mellon SA/NV in Frankfurt.
Dirk Werthmann has a degree in Economics from the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim.

Societe Generale Securities Services in Italy (SGSS S.p.A.) has been appointed by Fontemp to provide it with depositary bank services.

SGSS was retained by Fontemp for its recognised expertise in this activity, in particular its rapid and efficient level of operational execution and its capacity to provide clients with solutions which will evolve to meet their developing needs.

SGSS in Italy offers a complete range of securities services including clearing, custody and trustee services, fund administration, liquidity management and transfer agent services. It gained “Top Rating” in Global Custodian magazine’s 2011 “Agent Banks in Major Markets” annual survey, the only specialised bank in Italy to gain the top rating in all three categories of the survey.

Fontemp is the contractual pension fund for Italian temporary workers employed by temporary work agencies with fixed and unlimited contracts, whose function is to deliver complementary pension payments in addition to the compulsory welfare system.

As a result of the financial crisis and the general context regarding financial products, and as part of a study underway at the Paris financial services cluster of Finance Innovation on derivatives, valuation industry specialists recently launched a Professional Association for the Valuation of Financial Instruments (APVIF).

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) is one of the founding members of this new association alongside Zéliade Systems, DeriveXperts, Finance Innovation, Lexifi, Momentum Consulting, Pilcer & Associés, and Pricing Partners.

Societe Generale Securities Services in Italy (SGSS S.p.A.) has been appointed by BSI Wealth & Family SIM S.p.A. (BSI SIM) to provide personalised custody and settlement services.

SGSS was retained by BSI SIM for its recognised expertise and efficiency, in particular its ability to rationalise and optimise post-trading services related to custody and settlement, as well as for its flexibility in adapting its services to clients’ precise needs and objectives.

SGSS in Italy offers a complete range of securities services including clearing, custody and trustee services, fund administration, liquidity management and transfer agent services. It gained “Top Rating” in Global Custodian magazine’s 2011 “Agent Banks in Major Markets” annual survey, the only specialised bank in Italy to gain the top rating in all three categories of the survey.

BSI SIM is a financial intermediary firm entirely controlled by BSI SA, which has been part of the Generali Group since 1998. BSI SA is one of the oldest banks in Switzerland specialised in private wealth management.

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has received four ratings in Global Investor / ISF* magazine’s 2012 Sub-Custody survey, including “Top Rated” in Romania and Russia.

SGSS was rated in the following countries;

“Top Rated” in Romania and Russia,

“Rated Second” in Italy,

“Rated Third” in Spain (1).

This annual survey gives broker-dealers and global custodians the opportunity to rate their agent banks in four separate regions - Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Africa/Middle East - across ten different categories.

SGSS appoints Jeanne Duvoux as CEO and Managing Director of SGSS in Italy

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Jeanne Duvoux as CEO and Managing Director of SGSS in Italy (SGSS S.p.A). She reports to Bruno Prigent, Global Head of SGSS. Her appointment is already effective and was approved by the Board of Directors on 19 January 2012.

Jeanne Duvoux replaces Massimo Cotella, who has joined the SGSS Executive Committee to supervise sales and marketing activities and SGSS’ Liquidity Management Services. In her new position, Jeanne Duvoux will actively pursue the development of SGSS’ activities in Italy, where it is a market leader. In Global Custodian magazine’s 2011 « Agent Banks in Major Markets » survey, SGSS S.p.A. was named « Top Rated » in the « Cross border/non affiliated » and « Domestic » categories, and « Leading Top Rated » in the « Client » category.

Jeanne Duvoux started her career in 1989 as an auditor at Deloitte. She joined Societe Generale group in 1996 where, successively, she was Chief Financial Officer of Fimat (now Newedge) then CEO of Fimat Banque. She joined SGSS in 2006 when it acquired the securities services business of Unicredit in Italy, becoming Deputy CEO of SGSS S.p.A with responsibility for the creation and management of support functions. From October 2010, as Deputy Managing Director and SGSS’ Legal Representative in Italy, Jeanne Duvoux was in charge of the corporate and business functions of SGSS S.p.A.

Jeanne Duvoux is a graduate of the Reims Management School in France and a qualified accountant.

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has received nine major ratings, covering six countries, from Global Custodian Magazine* in its 2011 “Agent Banks in Emerging Markets” Survey.

The ratings** were in the following categories:

“Domestic Top Rated” in Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Romania and Russia,
“Cross-Border/Non-Affiliated Top Rated” in Croatia,
“Cross-Border/Non-Affiliated Commended”, “Leading Commended” and “Domestic Commended” in Morocco.

SGSS mandated by Repsol in Spain

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been mandated by Repsol, the Spanish global energy company, to provide administration services for the International Executive Stock Plan and to act as the agent bank and settlement provider for the Employee Stock Plan. Both Plans were launched by the Company in 2011.

SGSS was first selected in May 2011, to provide a global administration solution for the Repsol Executive Stock Plan. In October 2011, SGSS was selected again by Repsol but in this case to provide agency and settlement services for Repsol Employee Stock Plan.

SGSS russia (Rosbank) appointed by Fleming Family & Partners Asset Management to provide custody and fund services

Societe Generale Securities Services Russia (ROSBANK) has been appointed by Fleming Family & Partners Asset Management to act as Custodian (Depositary) and Investment Funds Trustee (Specialized Depositary).

SGSS Russia will provide custody, fund trustee and transfer-agent services for the full range of local open-ended and closed-ended funds managed by FF&P AM in Russia.

This new mandate is a result of the long standing commitment of SGSS to the Russian securities industry, where it has developed strong expertise in local clearing, custody and fund services for international corporates, financial institutions and institutional investors. SGSS is today the largest international fund services provider in Russia.
